What is Pickleball?
Pickleball is a fun, fast-growing sport that combines elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis. It’s easy to learn, social, and suitable for all ages and fitness levels. This racquet sport is easy to learn and play, making it perfect for all ages, fitness levels and skill sets. It’s also a load of fun and dare we say a little bit addictive once you start playing Just ask anyone who plays, one hit and you’re hooked!
I’ve never played before. Can I still join?
Absolutely! We love welcoming beginners. We offer intro sessions, coaching, and social play options to help you get started and feel confident on the court.
Is coaching available?
Yes! We offer coaching for all levels—from beginner to advanced—led by experienced and qualified coaches. Group programs and private lessons are available.
Do you host private events or team building?
Absolutely! The Pickleball Hive is perfect for corporate team-building days, birthdays, school groups, and social events. Contact us to tailor an event package.

What's so great about Pickleball?
Pickleball is a fun, low-impact sport that can be enjoyed by people of all ages and skill levels. It is easy to learn and has only a few rules, but also offers room for improvement and strategy. This enjoyable and social sport is great for players of all abilities. It is also a fantastic way to exercise while truly having fun.
How is Pickleball different to tennis?
The “kitchen” or non-volley zone is one of the most infamous rules from Pickleball. In simple terms, the kitchen zone is a seven-foot zone on either side of the net. Players cannot be touching the zone or the line with any part of their body, or their partner’s body when volleying the ball. The rule also includes the player’s momentum when landing, meaning they cannot finish in the kitchen after volleying the ball.
Is Pickleball a good workout?
Put simply, yes Pickleball is a great workout for people of all ages. Like most other racquet sports Pickleball is not only a great physical workout but it is also a sport that tests players mentally. Due to the nature of the sport Pickleball is a great way to improve all aspects of your physical fitness, and can be enjoyed at all ages.
How do I book a court or sign up for a session?
You can book courts or register for events and coaching online via our PodPlay booking app, the link to download the app is on our Home page.
Where are you located?
We are located at Matthew Flinders Anglican College, Buderim.
Parking 1st and closest option: Park in the smaller car park to the left as you enter off the street at the Flinders Early learning Centre on Ballinger Road. (use google maps, not Apple Maps as Apple Maps is incorrect location of early learning centre)
Walk through the forest pathway at the south east end of this car park.
100 metres and you’re there. PLEASE NOTE ON WEEKENDS THIS OPTION MAY NOT BE AVAILABLE
2nd option: Enter Main entrance of Mathew Flinders Anglican College ‘ROUNDABOUT’ entrance on Stringybark road. Park in this car park and walk into the school directly through the buildings and hit the main oval. Turn right along the pathway and you will eventually (100m) hit the Tennis courts/Pickleball courts.
Do you host competitions or leagues?

What should I bring?
Wear comfortable activewear and non-marking court shoes. We have paddles and balls available for hire or purchase if you don’t have your own gear.
